Project background
The Racing Post app and website underwent a comprehensive redesign to modernise the user experience, improve accessibility, and better serve the needs of both casual punters and dedicated racing fans. The project focused on streamlining navigation, enhancing the presentation of racecards, tips, and results, and integrating real-time data with a cleaner, more responsive interface across devices. As the Design Lead, I was responsible for setting the creative vision, leading a multidisciplinary design team, and ensuring consistency across platforms. I worked closely with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to align design goals with business objectives, while also championing a user-centered approach through research, testing, and iterative improvements. The result was a refreshed digital experience that delivered improved usability, stronger brand identity, and increased engagement.
Mobile App
The Racing Post app is a comprehensive mobile platform for horse racing enthusiasts, offering real-time racecards, results, expert tips, and betting tools. It provides detailed racecards for UK, Irish, and select international races, including horse form, breeding, ratings, and entries. Users receive instant race results and in-depth breakdowns shortly after each event. Expert tips and predictions are available daily from renowned analysts.
The app features an odds comparison tool, allowing users to compare prices from top bookmakers such as bet365, Betfair, Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, and William Hill, and place bets directly within the app. Live streaming of British and Irish races is accessible by logging into linked bookmaker accounts. Additional features include push notifications for race starts and the ability to sort racecards by expert tips. Premium content, such as in-depth analysis and race replays, is available to Members’ Club Ultimate subscribers.
